Pilot's Wife Spoke for Jesus, Herod's Wife Schemed to Kill John
The Public supported John, Condemned Jesus

John was killed because Herod's wife wanted him killed. Herod was reluctant to kill John because the people thought he was a prophet. (Mark 6:14-29) The story of Jesus was a reversal of John's. Pilot's wife tried to save Jesus. (Matthew 25:19) But the crowd demanded that Jesus be crucified. Both Pilot and Herod allowed themselves to be unduly influenced to condemn the innocent. In that sense the stories are similar, but the role of the people and wives are reversed.

I am writing several new pages on the patterns I have found in the Bible. I have a much longer essay that ties together figures in the Old and New Testament with the same name. This typology miracle has been very popular, thousands of hits a year for many years. There was at least one request that I provide more, so that is what I am doing.
